Little Women, Little Men, and Jo’s Boys
I first read Little Women in highschool and I am forever thankful for that book. I was just starting to lose my love for books and I would find myself choosing books
that just empty. They had no real value. Then my mom insisted I read Little Women. It took me a while to thoroughly enjoy the book, but then I started feeling a
connection with characters. Once this happened I devoured the book, crying and laughing threw the whole novel. I belive I love this books so much because Little Women
made me long for books that made me want to be a better person. I was no longer looking for simple entertainment, but good mentors and lessons. I longed for books
that captured my heart. Overall, Little Women glorified the importance of life and how quintessential families are. It made me better appreciate my own family,
value my own life, and recognize the importance of each life decision. It especially taught me that life is meant to enjoyed thoroughly. Life is meant to filled
with laughter! We are created to have joy! No matter what life throws at us there is always something to be thankful for.
A couple years after I read Little Women I discovered it was a series! I had no clue till about a couple weeks ago. Oh I was overjoyed! I read the last 2 books in a week!
I loved being able to follow the family like I was one of their own. Their family still had many trials, but they relied on God and leaned on each other. Great blessings came out of
that! It was a beautiful thing to watch unfold. I also loved being able to read about all the mischief Jo’s boys created. I couldn’t help, but laughing through
the whole book. Jo, Professor Bhaer, and all the March sisters consistently gave inspired council that I felt that was directly relate to me at times and I loved that!
Jo truly became a role model for me. Now I think we would all be able to calmly handle situation like she did if we too had hired help to take care of housekeeping, but I truly admire her . Her family consistently stood up for truth and took care of other’s. This series is full of good morals and I feel like a better person after reading it.
I am absolutely in love with this simple yet heart capturing series! A must read for sure!
“My child, the troubles and temptations of your life are beginning, and may be many; but you can overcome and outlive them all if you learn to feel the strength and tenderness of your Heavenly Father as you do that of your earthly one. The more you love and trust Him, the nearer you will feel to Him, and the less you will depend on human power and wisdom. His love and care never tire or change, can never be taken from you, but may become the source of lifelong peace, happiness, and strength. Believe this heartily, and go to God with all your little cares, and hopes, and sins, and sorrows, as freely and confidingly as you come to your mother.”

“Dan clung to her in speechless gratitude, feeling the blessedness of mother love, — that divine gift which comforts, purifies, and strengthens all who seek it.”
